Bruno is a Brain Bouncer. But unlike a club bouncer where his job is primarily to keep people out, Bruno’s job is to keep ideas in.
He stands around in my brain. And when ideas start coming, trying to run free and turn from ideas to art, his job is to snatch them all up, put them back in place and keep them from reaching the art stage of their lives.
Sometimes Bruno falls asleep and an idea or two is able to escape. But most of the time they just sit in my head, unable to run and stretch and grow into something much more powerful than they are when initially born.
Sometimes, when I’m very quiet, I can hear them screaming in my brain. Desperately pleading to be let free.
But Bruno won’t let them.
Ideas can’t become art.
Not on Bruno’s watch.
